Ella Fitzgeralds Songbooks are considered a cornerstone of 20th century recorded music, these new three-cd sets include the five complete Songbooks of: COLE PORTER, RODGERS & HART, DUKE ELLINGTON, IRVING BERLIN, GEORGE & IRA GERSHWIN.

The albums, originally released by Norman Granz for Verve Records in the late 1950s, include over eleven hours and 180 songs produced at the peak of Ellas vocal powers, they represent some of the finest interpretations of modern music ever recorded.

3-cd sets just £6.99 each or £17.95 for all three, including UK p&p.

My. What marvellous diction that girl has Cole Porter. Id never known how good our songs were until I heard Ella sing them Ira Gershwin.

Am delighted with the collection of songs on the DVDs. The sound of such old recordings is far better than expected, especially for the price. I highly recommend these Ella songs.

Excellent quality for the price. 9 discs of incomparable renditions of popular classics. I want to give it a 5 star rating but the fifth one won't show!

A 9 hour plus masterclass by the worlds greatest jazz singer, showing how her jazz sensibility can add so much to many classic American songs of the first half of the twentieth century. The recording quality seems to me to show no signs of falling off as I am afraid some reduced price offers can do. This as good as the 50’s originals yet at a tenth of their price today.
