On three CDs, the Complete Beyond the Fringe features Jonathan Miller, Dudley Moore, Peter Cook and Alan Bennett at their absolute best.
The material on CDs 1&2 was recorded at London's Fortune Theatre in May 1961. 15 previously unreleased sketches have been added to the original album to re-create the full show.
CD3 contains many of the Broadway performances of 1962 and 1964, including 'one leg too few' (an audition for the part of Tarzan) and 'the great train robbery', as well as reworked and refined versions of Alan Bennett's 'take a pew', Peter Cook's 'sitting on a bench' (I never had the Latin) and 'the end of the world'.
This EMI 3CD set comes complete with a 48 page booklet of performance photographs and history.
