I thought this was a good idea until I realised I was buying a tape deck (which I already own - you can get them for a fiver at a car boot sale), an audio cable (£4.99 Maplins) and 'free' software. I already use free software, it's called CoolEdit. Do a Google search and save yourself a whole lot of money. I am currently enjoying all my old comedy tapes for £4.99, the cost of a cable and significantly less than the cost of a single cassette tape in the 90s.

Sounds good, but has it got facilities and software to connect up to a turnable and copy vinyl as well? I would imagine that most people who have tapes also have vinyl. Just a thought!

On Tuesday, 2008-01-08... 10.02 GMT I purchased one "Ion TAPE2PC USB cassette Archiver" (£99.00) from for delivery 2008-01-09, Wednesday... The order appreciatively arrived as promised next day at 10.25 GMT... Set up TAPE2PC only to discover that the "EZ TAPE CONVERTER" CD was missing... so endeavored to download same from Ion Audio ... only to discover I needed, and soon succeeded in downloading "EZ Audio Converter for Mac" software ... which in a seemingly not so simple way eventually transferred my audio tapes to iTunes on my 1.8 GHz PowerPC G5 iMac's Mac OS X 10.5.1 platform... however, as the tapes are of poor quality, the resultant tracks on iTunes are of likewise poor quality... have yet to experiment the "Audacity" software to see if I can obtain better resultant iTunes audio quality... My recommendation is that if you have but a few tapes to transfer I suggest you beg, borrow or rent rather than purchase a "TAPE2PC USB cassette Archiver..." Ciao... Brenda...
