Larger ImageThe Wollemi Pine is one of the oldest & rarest trees in existence. Also known as the ‘dinosaur tree’ or ‘pinosaur’ it was thought to be extinct until discovered in the Blue Mountains, Australia in 1994.

Following a successful bid at a Sotheby’s auction in Sydney, Tregothnan introduced & cultivated the first such tree in the UK. The Tregothnan tree is now 8 foot high and has produced male and female cones on the same tree - another first outside Australia.
The Wollemi Pines offered by Tregothnan are around 5 years old and approx 120 cms tall and have all originated from our own tree. Wollemi pines have proved to be perfectly hardy having been tested by the recent cold winter and they make a unique gift, a stunning patio or indoor plant, or a feature tree for large gardens.
