Jostaberries:
If you like gooseberries and blackcurrants, make room for the jostaberry. Nutritious and delicious, it is the result of a cross between the two, and produces what look like over-large blackcurrants.
These succulent berries have a slightly sharp kick and make delicious crumbles and jams. Eat them fresh, in pies and puddings, in muffins, drizzled on ice cream and pancakes and they even add zing to your chicken as a glaze. Being a dark fruit, they are also rich in antioxidants and a good source of vitamin C.
Plant jostaberries in fertile soil in a sheltered spot in full sun.
You can order one plant in a 2 litre pot for £16.95 inc p&p or you can buy two plants for only £24.90 including delivery, saving £9.
